The short answer

Our two plans are $199 a month (Presence) and $999 a month (Growth), month to month with no build fee. In Ahrefs' survey of 439 SEO providers, local SEO averaged $1,557 a month and 68.8% of providers charged $2,000 a month or less. Running Google Ads is a separate bill: ours is $1,500 a month.

What UpGrow charges a roofing company

Every price we charge is printed on the pricing page. For a roofer, the plans break down like this.

UpGrow plans for roofing companies, October 2026
PlanMonthly priceWebsiteWhat it covers for a roofer
Presence$1995 pagesA fast site, your Google listing claimed and filled in with photos, and a monthly check that ChatGPT and Google can find you. No new pages after launch, no review requests and no call tracking.
Growth$999Up to 25 pagesA page for every service you sell in the cities you actually work, two to three new pages a month, review requests and replies, a tracking number, and a text back within a minute when you miss a call.
Google, Facebook & ChatGPT Ads$1,500A landing page per campaignCampaigns built and run beside either plan. The ad budget is separate and on your card; plan on at least $1,500 a month of spend.

Paying for the year gets two months free: $1,990 for Presence, $9,990 for Growth. There is no build fee because we build the site and license it to you while you are on a plan. The domain, the Google profile, the reviews, the ad accounts and the data are yours from day one. If you cancel, the site goes offline thirty days later and everything else stays with you.

What other SEO companies charge

Ahrefs, the SEO software company, polled 439 SEO providers on their prices and last updated the results on 15 August 2024 (Ahrefs survey). Its local SEO figures are the closest published match to what a roofer buys.

Agencies that sell to contractors are less open about it. On 16 August 2026 we read the pricing pages of 11 agencies that market contractors. Five printed no retainer price at all, so the only way to learn the number was a sales call. Among those that printed one, SEO started at $600 to $2,800 a month, and the $2,800 option required a 12-month commitment.

What makes roofing SEO cost more or less

The price follows the amount of work, and four things set the amount of work on a roofing account.

  • Pages. A 5-page site is written once. A page for each service in each city you work, plus new pages every month, is writing and upkeep every month.
  • Reviews. Asking for a review after each finished job and answering every one is weekly work, and Google says more reviews and positive ratings can help your local ranking (Google Business Profile Help).
  • Phone tracking. Knowing whether a call came from Google, your ad or the lettering on your van takes a tracking number and someone reading the report.
  • Follow-up. The missed-call text back, the estimate reminders and the follow-up on every proposal sit in Growth, and they are most of the difference between the two prices.

No price buys a position. Google's help page on local ranking says there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking (Google), and its guide to hiring an SEO says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google (Google Search Central, updated 5 Jun 2026), so what a higher price buys is more of the work above.

How many roofs does it take to pay for SEO?

Fixr puts a Florida roof replacement at $11,000 to $30,000 (cost guide updated 31 January 2025, Fixr). Here is a year of each plan against the low end of that range.

A year of each plan against one $11,000 Florida roof replacement
PlanA year, paid monthlyA year, paid up frontShare of one $11,000 roof
Presence$2,388$1,99018%
Growth$11,988$9,99091%

One low-end replacement a year covers Growth paid up front, and Presence costs under a fifth of one. The arithmetic holds only if the calls get answered. A ranking that rings a phone nobody picks up pays for nothing, which is why our free check includes calling your own number to time how long it rings, and working out whether the plan can return at least three dollars for every one you put in. If it cannot, we say so.

How long does roofing SEO take to show up?

The Google profile usually moves first, in weeks. Search takes months. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either buying links or lying, and both cost you the domain.

Pages about one specific thing move faster. On M&M Roofing's site, which we run, most of the reviews of named products such as Barcelona 900 tile were showing in Google results within two days of going live, and nine of them took 38% of the site's search clicks from 15 Sep to 12 Oct 2026. The field note on product reviews and city pages has the breakdown.

What to ask a roofing SEO company before you sign

Google's guide to hiring an SEO lists questions to ask, starting with examples of previous work and how the SEO measures success (Google Search Central). For a roofer, add these, with our own answers in brackets.

  • If I leave, who owns the domain, the Google profile and the reviews? (You do.)
  • Is there a contract, and how long is it? (Month to month, or a year paid up front with two months free.)
  • Is the price printed, or do I learn it on a sales call? (Ours is on the pricing page.)
  • Does the monthly report count calls and booked jobs, or only impressions? (Calls, leads and booked jobs come first; see the sample report.)
  • Do you work for another roofer in my cities? (One contractor per trade per market.)
  • Can I see a roofing site you run, with its numbers? (The M&M Roofing walkthrough.)

Questions roofers ask about this

Is $199 a month enough SEO for a roofer?

It covers the floor: a site Google and ChatGPT can read and a complete Google listing, so a homeowner who checks you out finds a real business. It adds no pages after launch and does not ask for reviews, so it will not climb month over month. Climbing is the Growth plan at $999.

Do I need Google Ads as well as SEO?

You do not need them to start. Ads sending traffic to a site that does not turn visits into calls is the most expensive way to find that out. When the site is ready, ads run beside either plan for $1,500 a month plus your ad budget, broken down in what Google Ads cost a roofer.

Is there a contract?

No long contract. Month to month, or pay for the year and get two months free.

Can you guarantee my roofing company ranks first on Google?

No. Google says no one can guarantee a #1 ranking, and that there is no way to pay for a better local ranking. We guarantee the work and the plan, never the market.
